DIY LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFT | CHOCOLATE BARK

HAPPY HOLIDAYS Y'ALL
I LOVE CHRISTMAS AND WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS
IS HOME-MADE STUFF, THE TRADITIONS, BEING JOLLY AND BEING TOGETHER WITH MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I'M AN OLD-SOUL WITH A YOUTHFUL SPIRIT SO I AM THE ONE WITH A ONESIE DANCING TO CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND COOKING/BAKING AND JUST MAKING THINGS FROM THE HEART. YES, I KNOW NOT EVERYONE DOES THAT STUFF OR IS LIKE BETTY CROCKER BUT EVER SINCE I WAS LITTLE MY MOM WOULD MAKE US(MY SISTER AND I) HELP HER BUT I LOVED IT BECAUSE I LEARNED A LOT AND THOSE ARE SOME OF THE BEST MEMORIES GROWING UP. SINGING, DANCING AND COOKING TAMALES AND OTHER STUFF AND IT WAS AMAZING!
I LOVE DOING EVERYTHING FROM THE HEART AND EVEN MORE DURING CHRISTMAS. MOST OF EVERYTHING I MAKE IS FROM SCRATCH.
YES, I KNOW NOT EVERYONE HAS THE TIME TO DO THAT BUT THIS GIFT IS QUICK AND LOOKS LIKE IT TOOK FOREVER BUT IT REALLY DIDN'T.
LAST YEAR I DID SUGAR COOKIES AND GAVE SOME TO MY FRIENDS.
NEXT YEAR I WILL SHARE MY RECIPE :)
THIS YEAR MY OLDEST SISTER WANTED TO GIVE SOME SWEET TREATS TO FRIENDS BUT SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT AND DIDN'T MUCH TIME TO DO ANYTHING.
SO I GAVE HER MY SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE(QUICK BUT THE THING THAT TAKES LONG IS CHILLING AND DECORATING IT) AND SAID I'D HELP WITH THESE CHOCOLATE BARKS WHICH ARE SO AFFORDABLE, EASY AND QUICK. IT MAKES THE PERFECT AND OH SO YUMMY LAST MINUTE GIFT FOR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, AND FAMILY.
BUY HOLIDAY TIN BOXES AND TISSUE PAPER: STUFF THEM WITH THE CHOCOLATE BARKS OR SUGAR COOKIES.YOU CAN EVEN BUY BOWS/RIBBON OR BOTH TO TOP IT OFF.
I DID TWO DIFFERENT ONES SINCE THEY ARE SO EASY AND IT GIVES TWO DIFFERENT OPTIONS WHICH IS NICE.
FIRST BARK:  A PEPPERMINT BARK WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE.
HALF WITH MARSHMALLOWS AND HALF WITHOUT.
SECOND BARK: ROCKY ROAD STYLE BARK WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE.

YOU CAN DO IT TO YOUR LIKING THAT'S THE FUN PART. YOU CAN CUSTOMISE IT TO WHO YOU'RE GIFTING THEM TO OR WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR KITCHEN THAT'S SWEET AND YUMMY.

WHAT I USED:
WAX  BAKING PAPER
2 BAGS OF WHITE CHOCOLATE MELTS
1 BAG MINI MARSHMALLOWS
1 BAG OF ALMONDS
1 BAG MILK CHOCOLATE BITS
1-2 BOXES CANDY CANES
HOLIDAY TIN BOXES
2 COOKIE SHEETS
BAKING COOKIE ROLLER
SMALL POT
STOVE SAFE SMALL GLASS BOWL
SPATULA

NOTE: THE ONLY THING I CRUSHED WAS THE CANDY CANES.
I LIKED EVERYTHING ELSE WHOLE IT GIVES IT DIMENSION BUT YOU CAN CHOP THE ALMONDS IN HALF AND MARSHMALLOW IF YOU'D LIKE.

STEP 1: CRUSH THE CANDY CANES IN A ZIPLOCK BAG. CLOSE IT AND LET THE STRESS MELT AWAY LOL AND CRUSH IT WITH A COOKIE ROLLER. MAKE SURE TO NOT CRUSH IT INTO DUST, YOU STILL WANT TO HAVE SOME OK SIZE PIECES.
STEP 2: I LAY THE WAX PAPER ON A COOKIE SHEET.
STEP 3: MELT CHOCOLATE OVER BOILER ON STOVE.
BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING. SUPER HOT.
STEP 4: POUR WHITE CHOCOLATE ON WAX PAPER THEN SPREAD MAKE SURE IT'S NOT TO THIN. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT HALF AN INCH OR SO. THAT WAY YOU HAVE A GOOD AMOUNT OF CHOCOLATE AND YOUR TOPPING OF CHOICE HAS A GOOD THICKNESS TO SINK INTO.
STEP 5: ADD THE CRUSHED CANDY CANES AND MARSHMALLOW ON TOP. (FOR HALF I ONLY DID THE CANDY CANE AND THE OTHER HALF I DID CANDY CANE AND MARSHMALLOW. AGAIN FOR MORE VARIETY.)
STEP 6: PUT IN FREEZER FOR ABOUT AND HOUR THEN SET OUT FOR 5 MINS.
STEP 7: CUT INTO PIECES
STEP 8: PUT IN TIN BOXES.
TIP: YOU CAN EVEN PUT IN CHOCOLATE MOLDS.
FOR BARKS I LIKE TO BREAK IT UNEVEN.

I HOPE YOU ENJOY AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

WISHING YOU LOTS OF LOVE AND SWEETNESS
AMANDA BERNADETTE
