PHOTOGRAPHY

PHOTOGRAPHY:
The process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy, as x-Rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays.

Hello y'all,
Today's post is very dear to me and it's what photography means to be.
Photography has my heart.

I first started with the dictionary definition and although this definition doesn't come close to what photography truly means it does give a good start.
I'm very grateful to live in this time where in seconds I can see and search photographs on exquisite destinations in the world and so on but like everything else there is a downside.
In this world with technology so advanced---- with Internet and cameras on phones; we forget about so many factors on what makes photography amazing.
Downside 1: Not taking professional photographers seriously.
Downside 2: Taking many photographs and not embracing the moment. I used to do this but not anymore.
Example: When I would go on vacation, I would be so focused on photographing the sites that at times I forgot that I had been waiting to be at those sites for a long time. So now I just photograph it a couple different angles and put down the camera and enjoy the sites and the moments. I have a list in mind now and what to take and once I’ve done that I have more time to embrace the moment and to be more creative with my photography. Having this list in my mind saves me so much time in deleting photos back home and I have more space again to be more creative.
Downside: Too many times we get so stuck on our phones we don’t realize our surroundings. I personally love to take my food photos but I capture it and lock my phone and upload it later or after lunch with whomever I’m with at the time. Your friend didn’t come to eat and see you on your phone.

Yes, I am a professional photographer and I did pursue a business in photography. Although I am not doing good in my business which honestly felt like a stab in my heart; I'm not mad because I learned so much and I tried it. I have faith God has something else in store for me. Having my business opened my eyes to a lot of wonderful opportunities and unfortunately, seeing so many people put photography as the last option.
Which brings me here on saying let us not forget about photography it’s the art that captures our life’s moments.
Why do so many people put photography as their last choice?
Was the question I kept repeating to myself.
Example: Weddings
I do understand that it is pricey(Photography equipment is not cheap) and tricky because you don't want anyone to run with your money or give you crap photos which, by the way, makes me sick and want to punch those "photographers" who wrong clients time and money.
-----but I ask why put your most treasured moments last or even question it. I'm not saying that you have to always have a professional photographer glued to you but to invest what's most dear to you to be captured for years and years to come. I believe where you invest your love, you invest your life.
That’s another post about why you should hire a professional photographer for your special moments (weddings, family portraits, maternity, newborn, graduation etc)

So Photography is an instrument to capturing love, life, feelings, and time.
Being able to capture two people in love, a family’s love or even friendship makes photography so much richer. To capture the changing’s of the seasons and the world around us even life in space is beyond words.
With photography, we can capture our feelings either happy, sad, scared and grumpy is emotionally wonderful. Most importantly with photography we can capture time. Your thinking…. time? We can’t stop time and true we can’t, life goes on but I’m so grateful that we have a great tool, CAMERAS to capture moments. I always say photography is like a time machine if you want to go back in time go to your albums and look at your photos. Wow, when I look at my childhood and high school photos I laugh and tell myself what were you thinking or that camping trip was amazing, I want to go back. Those moments bring so much joy and realizations on how far I've come or to not ever wear those types of shoes again haha haha haha.
So you if you love a moment and want to keep repeating that moment photograph it!
I also always say without photography we wouldn't
know what another place on the other side of the world looks like,or
the universe and it's stars,or a baby growing up, or the products we use, and also films/movies, or AHHH the famous selfies hahaha (which I love, don't judge) and we wouldn’t have Pinterest or magazines.....NO!  What a boring world this would be hahaha. I do love words and other art but I’m talking about photography now so don’t want to go off topic.
Moments are once in a lifetime not to be repeated ever. Although we do have the same seasons every year, the time isn’t the same and that tree doesn’t have the same leaves as the year before.
So to me photography is the most beautiful art we have. Photography comes from our vision and heart and our creativity. Cameras are like our eyes and at times I wish I could take photographs with my eyes. That would save me a lot of money hahaha but I’m grateful cameras come close.

I hope this makes you think of what's most valuable to you and what's really worth capturing.
To appreciate photographers and the art of photography.
To embrace the moment and yes share your moments with others but don’t miss out on the moments because it is not to be repeated.
There are many great photographers, so don't think they aren't to be found.
Also give those who are just starting a photography business a chance to capture your moments because everyone has to start somewhere.
Thank you to my clients, who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to capture what means most to you.
Thank you to my family & thank you to my friends who supported my dream.
Now I'm off to a new dream that God created in my heart.
Don't worry I still will be taking photographs.
A photographer for Life.
Blessings to those starting a photography business. Be posted I will be teaching things I learned on the business side because I don't want you STRESSING but instead having more time to be photographing. If you need a model contact me,
ill be glad to help.

Life is too short to not capture what means most to you.
My favorite photography quote is

LIFE IS LIKE A CAMERA.YOU FOCUS ON WHAT'S IMPORTANT. CAPTURE THE GOOD TIMES. DEVELOP FROM THE NEGATIVE AND IF THINGS DON’T WORK OUT, TAKE ANOTHER SHOT.

Also some from my favorite photographer, Ansel Adams:
“WHEN WORDS BECOME UNCLEAR, I SHALL FOCUS WITH PHOTOGRAPHS. WHEN IMAGES BECOME INADEQUATE, I SHALL BE CONTENT WITH SILENCE.”

“YOU DON’T MAKE A PHOTOGRAPH JUST WITH A CAMERA. YOU BRING THE ACT OF PHOTOGRAPHY ALL THE PICTURES YOU HAVE SEEN, THE BOOKS YOU HAVE READ, THE MUSIC YOU HAVE HEARD, THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE LOVED.”

“IT IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER, NOT THE CAMERA, THAT IS THE INSTRUMENT.”

So photography will always be in my heart and although business is slow,
I still have my visions and camera to capture this lovely life and share it.
From my heart to yours
Wishing you lots of Love & Sweetness
